Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Arden Bewersdorf has verbally committed to swim and study at Pepperdine University as a member of the class of 2030. She confirmed the decision in an email to SwimSwam, writing:
I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Pepperdine University. I want to thank my family, friends and teammates at Club Wolverine for their endless support. I could not have done this without you! Thank you Coach Olivia, Alan, Stella and Joe for starting my journey. Thank you Coach Josh, Josh W, Pat, Katie, and Jeff for your consistent support and encouragement. This wouldn’t have been possible without all of you. Finally, thank you Coach Ellie and Coach Dan for this amazing opportunity. GO WAVES!
Top SCY Times:
- 200 Butterfly: 2:07.93
- 400 IM: 4:36.97
- 500 Freestyle: 5:05.07
Bewersdorf hails from Northville, Michigan, where she attends Detroit Country Day High School and trains year-round with Club Wolverine. She’s a middle-distance specialist whose best events are the 200 butterfly, 400 IM, and 500 freestyle.
The future Wave had a big breakthrough during the 2024-25 season, dropping from 2:09.62 to 2:07.93 in the 200 fly, 4:38.69 to 4:36.97 in the 400 IM, and 5:10.56 to 5:05.07 in the 500 free.
Bewersdorf didn’t have a specific standout meet throughout the season, as her best times came from various meets. She set her 200 fly and 400 IM bests at the FMC Speedo Grand Challenge in November and her 500 free best at the MLA Ultra Championships in March.
Pepperdine University has a Division I mid-major swimming program in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) conference. The team placed first at the 2025 women’s conference championships. At that meet, Bewersdorf’s current best times would have qualified her for three ‘A’ finals, ranking her fifth in the 200 fly, seventh in the 400 IM, and eighth in the 500 free after prelims.
On the team’s 2024-25 depth chart, Bewersdorf would have ranked third in both the 200 fly and 500 free, and fifth in the 400 IM. Sophomore Ansley Halbach led the team in the 400 IM (4:28.42) and 500 free (5:02.05), while sophomore Emme Spevak (2:05.53) topped the 200 fly standings. Bewersdorf will overlap one season with both swimmers, who should provide strong training partners as she adjusts to collegiate swimming.
Bewersdorf joins backstroker Riley Kleinfelder, sprint freestyler Carlee Davis, distance freestyler Caroline MacDonald, and breaststrokers Frankie Ramey and Kat Kracht in committing to the Waves’ Class of 2030.
