The 2023 French Championships (25m) kick off this Thursday and, although World Record holder Leon Marchand is remaining stateside, there is still a nice offering of performers ready to race.

Olympic champion Florent Manaudou is entered in the 50m free, 100m free and 50m fly events while fellow speedster Maxime Grousset is expected to take on the 50m/100m fly, 50m/100m/200m free and 100m IM.

Olympic medalist Federico Burdisso is also among the roster, as is Swiss Olympic medalist Jeremy Desplanches.

On the women’s side, Russian-turned-French freestyler Anastasia Kirpichnikova is among the lineup of top performers, while Beryl Gastaldello and Charlotte Bonnet will make several appearances each.

France is coming off of a successful 2023 Long Course World Championships, one which saw the nation place 4th in the overall swimming medal table. Grousset reaped gold in the men’s 100m fly, as well as bronze in the men’s 100m free and 50m fly. Marchand stole the show with 3 individual gold medals across the 200m fly, 200m IM and 400m IM, including overwriting American Michael Phelps‘s World Record in the latter contest.
