Indian Swim Coach, Wife Die In Car Accident In Rajkot

An Indian swimming coach and his wife died in a car accident on Sunday, Jan. 17 in Rajkot, while several family members were injured.

According to the Times of India, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) coach Vicky Chauhan and his wife Radhika Chauhan were driving to Dwarka when their car turtled after two stray dogs came on the road and the driver lost control of the vehicle. Vicky’s brother, Parth Chauhan, was driving the vehicle, and it occurred around 4:15 a.m.

Vicky, 29, and Radhika, 25, died instantly, while eight other family members in the vehicle were injured, including their twin daughters, Arvi and Arya. Per the report, Arya, along with brother-in-law Anil, his wife Daksha, and mother Chandan were taken to Rajkot Civil Hospital due to relatively severe injuries. The others were given “preliminary treatment” at the government hospital in Tankara.

The family lives in Sharad Nagar, located in the Tarsali area of Vadodara. The report adds that both Jagdish, Vicky’s father, and Parth also work as swim coaches.
