RISE Aquatic Club’s Lilia Barber has committed to the University of Missouri as a part of the Tigers’ 2027 recruiting class.

Barber hails from Oak Brook, Ill., and represents Hinsdale Central High School. She recently competed at the IHSA Girls State Championship as a junior. She earned her top finish in the 50 free, finishing 8th overall in 23.60. She also finished 16th in the 100 free in 52.29.
Her best times in each of those events came as a sophomore at the same meet the year prior. There, she clocked 23.28 in the 50 free (9th place) and 50.64 in prelims of the 100 free (later finishing 16th in finals at 51.90).
Barber also holds a 200 freestyle best time of 1:50.98 from the 2024 IL Age Group SC Championship. Her 500 free lifetime best is 5:11.04, set in January 2025.
Outside of her freestyle ability, Barber holds a 100 butterfly best time of 56.57 and a 200 IM PB of 2:09.70.

The Mizzou women finished 10th at the 2025 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships.
Based on Barber’s best times, she would have finished 62nd in the 50 free, tied for 57th in the 100 free, and 57th in the 200 free at that meet last season.
Barber is the first publicized commitment for Mizzou in the girls’ high school class of 2027.
