Hannah Saiz on Kenyon Confidence: “We’re All Getting Behind One Another”

Kenyon senior Hannah Saiz talks about the confidence that her team has this year, and why this team is different than past Kenyon teams. She says that they are really getting behind one another and supporting one another in this year’s meet.

Though only alluded to in the interview, Saiz won the 200 fly title by a large margin on night 3 of the Division III NCAA Championships but then had to be pulled from the pool and wheeled to the medical area afterward. This interview was done after that episode, so she was obviously feeling better, but we’ll have to wait and see if she finishes the meet today or simply cheers her teammates on as they try to overcome a big final-day deficit to Emory.

Thanks to SCAC Sports for putting together a great meet this weekend, including these video interviews. Follow them on Twitter at @SCAC_Sports.

Unbelievable swim by Saiz. I have never seen someone have to be pulled from the pool. Sort of scary to be honest, but shows how much she wanted the record.
