Paris Christie, a swimmer at Carmel Swim Club, has committed to St. Bonaventure.

Christie is a senior at Carmel High School in Indiana. In December, she competed at the 2021 NAC Speedo Music City Invitational, where she placed 22nd in the 100 breast. At the 2021 MIC Championship, she finished seventh in the 50 free.
Christie is a Futures qualifier in the 100 breast. Her best short-course yards times are:
- 50 free: 24.92
- 100 free: 54.55
- 100 breast: 1:05.92
St. Bonaventure is a member of the Atlantic 10 conference. At the 2021 women’s A10 Championships, St. Bonaventure placed eighth out of 10 teams. If Christie had swum her best times at that meet, she would’ve placed sixteenth in the 100 breast.
The best breaststroker in the Bonnies’ program, Rachel Kimmel, is a senior this year, but she will graduate having left a strong mark on the program as school record-holder in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. The only other breaststroker with a better time than Christie at the 2021 conference championships was Hayley Tasselmeyer, who graduated in 2021.
Christie will also be crucial in building up the breaststroke program. Two of the four swimmers who list breaststroke as one of their strokes are seniors this year, while another one is a current junior. Only McKenna Shearing, a current freshman, will be around for any significant portion of Christie’s college tenure.
Christie joins Katie Lyons, another breaststroker, as a recruit for the fall of 2022.
