Futures finalist Victoria Williams has announced her commitment to swim for Howard University in Washington, DC, beginning in the fall of 2026.
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Howard University! I would like to thank my friends, teammates, and coaches for all their support along my journey<3 I’d also like to give a special thank you to Coach Nic for giving me this amazing opportunity. Go Bisons!!!!!”
A senior at Upper Dublin High School in Pennsylvania, Williams has been a member of the school’s varsity swim team all four years. She also currently trains year-round with Upper Dublin Aquatic Club, where she primarily specializes in freestyle, backstroke and butterfly.
Williams has qualified for the PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) 3A State Championships the past three years in a row, with her best performances coming at the 2024 iteration of the meet. She helped her team to victory in the 200 medley relay, leading off in 26.05 on the backstroke leg to mark a personal best time in the 50 back, and placed 4th in the 100 back (56.13 – PB) and 9th in the 100 free (51.13 – PB). She also helped Upper Dublin to a runner-up finish in the 400 free relay, leading off with an opening split of 51.31.
At the 2025 Middle Atlantic Senior Championship in March, Williams earned a second swim in five events and posted a series of lifetime best performances. She took 3rd in the 200 back (2:00.36 – PB), 4th in the 100 free (51.19), 5th in the 100 back (55.29 – PB), 10th in the 100 fly (56.25 – PB) and 11th in the 200 free (1:51.67 – PB). She also finished 6th during the prelims of the 200 fly (2:06.05 – PB) but opted not to race it again during finals. On the relays, Williams helped her team to a victory in both the 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay, leading off both races and clocking a new best time of 55.08 in the 100 back, in addition to contributing to a runner-up finish in the 200 free relay and 400 free relay.
Williams competed at the Futures Championship in Madison (LCM) over the summer, earning a second swim in two of her individual races. She placed 29th in the 100 back (1:05.11) and 32nd in the 200 free (2:09.63 – SB). She also finished 33rd in the 200 back (2:22.15), 37th in the 100 fly (1:04.20 – PB), 38th in the 100 free (59.05 – SB) and 51st in the 50 free (27.58).
This season, Williams raced at the 2025 Katie Ledecky Invitational in December, where she turned in a series of top swims. She placed 4th in the 50 free (23.36 – PB), 5th in the 100 free (51.50 – SB), 8th in the 100 back (55.96 – SB), 16th in the 200 back (2:05.92) and 41st in the 100 fly (58.54). She also placed 12th in the 200 free (1:51.89) after posting a new lifetime best time of 1:51.55 during prelims.

A Division I Mid-Major program, Howard competes in the Northeast Conference. Last season, the women’s team took the runner-up spot at the Northeast Conference Championships for the second year in a row. Based on the results from the 2025 conference championship, Williams’ times would have landed her in the ‘A’ final in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 back, 200 back, 100 fly and 200 fly, giving her plenty of events to choose from. She notably would have won the 200 back with her current lifetime best, putting her in a position to be a key contributor right from the start, although that does not account for the other incoming recruits.
Joining Williams in the pool this fall will be Kaliyah Hinson (free/back) and Amira Washington (free/back/fly), who should make for strong training partners over the next four years.
