Futures Finalist Matilda Prizler Commits to NYU for Fall 2026

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Futures finalist Matilda Prizler has announced her commitment to swim for New York University beginning in the fall of 2026.

“I am so excited to announce my commitment to the Early Decision process at New York University to continue my athletic and academic career! I would like to thank my parents and my brother for their endless support throughout this journey! I would also like to thank Coach Andrew Kramer from the Dayton Raiders and all of my coaches for always pushing me to reach and exceed my goals, both in and out of the water. I would also like to thank Coach Trevor Miele for making this amazing opportunity possible! Go Violets!!”

The Ohio native is currently a senior at Oakwood High School, where she has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming and diving team all four years. In addition to competing for Oakwood, she trains year-round with the Dayton Raiders, primarily specializing in distance free and IM.

Prizler posted a series of top performances at the 2025 OLY NCSA Winter Championships in December, earning a second swim in four races and logging lifetime bests in five events. She took the runner-up spot in both the 1000 free (10:13.39 – PB) and 1650 free (17:10.18 – PB) and placed 12th in the 200 breast (2:28.87) and 17th in the 400 IM (4:35.14 – PB). She also finished 6th in the 500 free (5:06.67) and 16th in the 200 IM (2:13.67) after posting personal best times of 5:02.27 and 2:11.30, respectively, during prelims.

At the OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) Southwest Sectional in Centerville in February, Prizler clocked two new season-best times. She won the 500 free (5:15.88) and took 3rd in the 200 free (1:57.61 – SB). She also set a season-best time in the 50 free (26.44) as the leadoff on her team’s winning 200 free relay.

Over the summer, Prizler competed at the 2025 Futures Championship (LCM) in Madison, where she clocked a string of personal best performances. She placed 5th in the 1500 free (17:39.13), 9th in the 800 free (9:14.27) and 19th in the 400 free (4:31.78), setting new lifetime bests in each event. She also contested the 50 fly (33.43 – PB) and 50 back (34.90 – PB) and logged a personal best time in the 200 free (2:11.96) as the leadoff on the 800 free relay.

Best Times SCY

  • 1000 free – 10:13.39
  • 1650 free – 17:10.18
  • 200 IM – 2:11.30
  • 400 IM – 4:35.14

A Division III program, NYU competes in the University Athletic Association against the likes of Emory, Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis. Last season, NYU took the runner-up spot at the UAA Championships before sending 17 athletes to compete at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship, where the team again took 2nd overall.

The 2026 UAA Championships saw the Violets take home the conference title this past weekend, dethroning Emory for the first time in 26 years. Based on the results from this season’s conference championships, Prizler would have landed in the ‘B’ final in the 500 free and 400 IM and the ‘C’ final in the 200 free. She also would have placed 4th in the 1650 free, setting her up to be a strong contributor right from the start.

Outside of the pool, Prizler enjoys art and drawing and hopes to pursue a minor in art at NYU.

Prizler will be joined in the Big Apple in the fall by Izzy Westling, Chloe Loo, Mischa Eng, Gaby Kaiser and Malin Wolfson, who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
