Former Arlington, Mass. Swim Coach Paul Collins Sentenced to 8-10 Years in Prison

Former Arlington Boys & Girls Club swim coach Paul Collins has been sentenced to eight-to-ten years in prison on charges of sexually abusing a child, according to several local media reports.

Collins was accused by two of his former swimmers of abusing them when they were younger than 14-years old in the late 1970’s. The two men, now in their 40’s, came forward and Collins was arrested in 2013.

On May 21st, according to the Boston Globe, Collins admitted to abusing the two boys, and said that he may have had sexual contact with two other boys as well.

USA Swimming says that Collins is not, nor has he ever, been a member, meaning that they have no jurisdiction by which to add him to their list of publicly banned individuals.
