FINA.org Gets Design Overhaul

Following the USASwimming.org major overhaul, FINA has unveiled it’s own site remake.

The site has been down over the past week, and I couldn’t quite figure out why, but today when I logged on, this is what I was greeted with:

Like the folks at USA-Swimming, FINA has done a spectacular job at sprucing up the site and making it more navigable. Even more impressive, the FINA website was about ten times as bad as USA-Swimming’s before the redesign. It was so bad that the site was effectively useless to the average user.

But now, the site is loaded with useful information, statistics, top times lists, calendar’s, and news.

These overhauls are bringing swimming in line with other major sports, such as basketball or football. For years, swimming has relied on independent news outlets to report their stories, but now, much like the NFL and NBA have done, USA-S and FINA have taken control of their own news.
