Diver Mia Hayes has announced her commitment to Drexel University this fall. Hayes currently resides in New York and attended Farmingdale Senior High School, where she earned a varsity letter in diving all four years.
Hayes’ specialty is the 1-meter springboard. In November 2024, she competed at the NYSPHSAA Section 8 Championships (Girls Nassau County), where she placed 15th in the event with a score of 262.15 points.
The month prior, she placed 9th in the 1-meter event with a score of 243.15 points at the NYSPHSAA Section 8 Division A Championship.
In October 2023, Hayes secured 7th place in the 1-meter event at the same meet, scoring 188.40 points.
Drexel finished 6th at the 2025 Women’s Coastal Athletic Association Championships, matching their placement from the previous season. The women’s team did not have any divers during the 2024–25 season, but they did have divers compete at the conference meet in the previous year.
However, the men’s team did have divers. Freshman Joshua Gratton was named the CAA Men’s Rookie Diver of the Year. The diving squad was led by head diving coach Lana Christensen.
Hayes will be joining swimmers Mimi Moore and Sidney Stolle on Drexel’s campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this fall. Moore specializes in breaststroke (1:04.13 in the 100, 2:18.34 in the 200), while Stolle shows strength in the backstroke (54.58 in the 100, 2:00.32 in the 200).
