The 2026 Luxembourg Euro Meet is set to get underway this weekend, spanning Friday, January 30th through Sunday, February 1st.

The 26th edition of the annual competition has been requested to World Aquatics to be classified as a qualifying event for the 2027 World Aquatics Championships. which means international stars may be vying for potential roster slots every time they dive in.

Although we’re awaiting the official start lists, we have a preview of the elite global talent about to descend upon the Centre National Sportif et Culturel d’Coque.

Among the expected contestants are a handful of athletes who are coming off of last weekend’s Geneva International Challenge. That includes Olympic medalist Caspar Corbeau of the Netherlands, who enjoyed a sweep of the breaststroke events a week ago.

This weekend he’ll be challenged by rising 18-year-old Filip Nowacki, with the British ace ready to follow-up his 2025 breakout year which saw the teen shatter the national junior records in both the 100m breast (59.20) and 200m breast (2:07.32) at the World Junior Championships. His latter effort established a new European Junior Record.

For comparison, Corbeau’s lifetime bests rest at 59.03 and 2:07.73, respectively, potentially setting up an electric showdown between the pair this weekend.

Olympic champion Matt Richards has been highlighted by organizers as having entered the competition, as well as his Olympic teammate Freya Colbert.

Versatile ace Roos Vanotterdijk of Belgium headlines the women’s entries, with the group aloso including Olympic medalist Tes Schouten of the Netherlands who is racing in her second competition of 2026 after withdrawing from last year’s World Championships due to health issues.

Imoudu adds to the breaststroke field. Greenbank + British juniors Amalie Smith & Theodora Taylor are also competing.

Interestingly, Nowacki is also doing the 4IM while Medi Harris is back competing at an international meet.

Wondering if we could see a 47 from Matt Richards in the 100… He opened his season with a 48.10 a few weeks ago, looked very sharp.

No entry lists a day before the competition is embarrassing at this level and only limits how much fans can be invested and excited.
