Lizzie was a four-year letter winner for the Hawken School swim team. She helped her team to the state, district and conference championships each year from 2009-12. She was an All-American for her club team in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Lizzie also played tennis in high school and her sister, Jennifer, was a National Champion on the Emory swimming & diving team.
An injury prevented Lizzie from swimming at the Miami Invite, but that did not slow her down. At UAAs Lizzie won both the 200 breast and 100 breast. At NCAAs Lizzie, the reigning champion, placed 2nd in the 200 breast(2:15.71). She placed 3rd in the 100 breast(1:02.57) and swam the 200 IM in a time of 2:06.07.
At the Miami Invite Lizzie dropped time in every event she swam, placing 3rd in the 200 breast and 5th in the 100 breast. At UAAs Lizzie won the 200 breast and placed 2nd in the 100 breast. NCAAs was a great meet for Lizzie, as she won the 200 breast(2:14.37) and placed 3rd in the 100 breast(1:02.53). She also swam the 200 IM in a time of 2:07.01.
The first taper meet of the season for Lizzie was the Miami Invite. She placed 11th in the 100 breast and 13th in the 200 breast. At UAAs Lizzie won the 100 breast and came in 2nd in the 200 breast, dropping in each. At NCAAs Lizzie dropped even more time and placed 9th in the 200 breast(2:17.53) and 10th in the 100 breast(1:03.67).
