Arizona State Lands Big Commitment from Swedish Breaststroke Talent Oliver Munn for 2026

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Swedish Breaststroker Oliver Munn has verbally committed to Arizona State University as a part of the Sun Devils men’s 2026 recruiting class.

I choose ASU because it’s a place that matches my ambition. I’ve always looked for an environment where I can push my limits every day. Being surrounded by elite swimmers, great coaches and a winning culture it allows me to pursue that greatness.

The Uppsala, Sweden, native came stateside late this summer to compete at the Speedo Junior National Championships (LCM). There, he set a pair of long course bests, along with very respectable results. He set best times in the 50 breast (27.95) and the 200 breast (2:15.58). He finished top eight in all three breaststroke races, taking 3rd in the 50 breast, 4th in the 100 breast (1:02.01), and 7th in the 200 breast.

Earlier this summer, Munn competed at the European Junior Championships (LCM), where he turned in his fastest 100 breast time of his career. He touched in 1:01.64 to finish 9th. He also turned in a 10th-place finish in the 50 breast in 28.01, which stood as his best time until he reset that at Summer Junior Nationals.

Along with his breaststroke expertise, he also holds a very respectable long course 200 IM time of 2:14.11 at the Malmsten Swim Open in 2023. He also set his best 100 fly time of 59.88 and 400 IM time of 4:54.10 at that meet.

Best Times Converted to SCY:

Event LCM SCY Conversion
50 Breast 27.95 24.27
100 Breast 1:01.64 53.72
200 Breast 2:15.58 1:58.54
200 IM 2:14.11 1:57.93
400 IM 4:54.10 4:19.18

The Arizona State men took home the team title at the 2025 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships.

Based on Munn’s converted best times, we can predict that he would have qualified for the ‘B’ final in both the 100 breast and 200 breast, and finished 42nd in the 200 IM.

His breaststroke talent is undeniable. Munn could immediately make an impact on the Big 12 conference stage. A really positive sign for Arizona State is that his best times in his primary events have come in the last four to five months, showing consistent improvement.

While there is no question on his primary races being the breaststroke events, but there’s work to be done to develop his #3 event, which is likely the 200 IM

With still a year to improve, Munn could find himself as not only a consistent Big 12 contributor, but a potential NCAA qualifier for years to come for the Sun Devils.

Munn will join Jack Wroblewski, Henry Lyness, Jack Culberson, Brennen Oniel, London Rising, Onur Oksuz, Dillon Albertyn, Ian Disosway, Tyler Porter and Jake Lloyd in the Sun Devil men’s 2026 recruiting class.

I would think or assume he could improve his 200 IM a lot since it’s best time is 2 and 1/2 years old but I don’t know how much he has raced that event since then.

I reckon in SCM he could break 2:00, he has medaled in all strokes at the Swedish Youth champs except backstroke where his 50bk would have gotten silver had he swum it.
