GREENSBORO, N.C.- After earning six first-place finishes out of the eight events she competed in at the NC State GAC Invitational last weekend, Alexia Zevnik was named ACC Female Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

A senior captain from Lasalle, Canada, she played a valuable role in the No. 6 Wolfpack women pulling out a team win among a field that had four other programs ranked among the top 25 of the national poll. This marks the third out of four weeks of regular season competition that NC State has had a swimmer garner weekly honors.

She won the 100 freestyle (48.08), 200 IM (1:56.82) and 200 backstroke (1:53.05) and placed second in the 100 back (52.12), bettering her NCAA B cut in all four events. She additionally notched a B cut in the 200 free as she swam a leadoff split time of 1:45.57 in the first-place 800 freestyle relay that tabbed a B cut time of 7:06.93.

Zevnik was also a member of the first-place 400 free relay that earned an automatic NCAA qualification by posting an A cut time of 3:13.35. She also swam the backstroke leg of the winning 400 medley relay squad that stopped the clock at 3:33.52 for a B cut.

The Wolfpack will return to action when select members of the team will travel to Atlanta, Ga., for the USA Swimming Winter National Championships Nov. 30-Dec. 3.
