Position Description
Pearland Aquatics(PEAK) was established in 2006 in Pearland, TX and is seeking to hire just the 3rd Head Coach in our Club’s 20 year history. Our ideal candidate has previous head coaching experience with all age groups, unimpeachable ethics, strong leadership and communication skills, is passionate about the sport of swimming, and knows how to motivate swimmers and their parents to engage them to support the team.
This is a full-time, salaried position that requires availability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed to support practices, meets, and Team events. Travel to away meets or events will also be required. Compensation will be based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach swimmers of all levels, on-deck up to 6 days/week and present at meets
- Plan, write, and lead seasonal and annual training plans, practices, and team development strategies for all groups
- Oversee and mentor coaching staff and instructors across all programs
- Support team operations: scheduling, parent communication, meet planning
- Coordinate with the Board, City of Pearland Parks & Rec Dept, High School Coaches and ISD administrators, and volunteers on program needs
- Attend and provide written status reports at Board meetings, Conduct weekly Coaching Staff meetings, Represent PEAK at Gulf LSC meetings
Preferred Requirements
- Previous Head Coaching Experience of 5+ years with swimmers of all ages, preferably in the Gulf LSC or TX
- Strong focus on technique, race strategy, dryland/strength conditioning and age-appropriate training for both developmental and elite swimmers.
- Be approachable, have good listening skills, and cultivate positive and healthy working relationships with swimmers, fellow coaches, Board members, parents, and community leaders while encouraging input from others.
- Proven track record of age group level swimmer development such as TAGS, Junior Nationals, Sectionals, NCSA qualifiers and the ability to prepare Seniors for NCAA College Swimming.
- Foster a positive, fun, and competitive team culture; Be the “Face of the Club” in the community, and have infectious enthusiasm that motivates swimmers and Parents to engage and help run the Club.
- Create and maintain a disciplined and structured approach to giving Parents regular feedback and evaluation of swimmer progress and goals each season
- Develop and implement a sustainable Dryland training program
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technology needs
- Be able to articulate both short and long-term visions for the club
- Assist with overseeing, controlling and forecasting the annual budget, working closely with the Board President, Treasurer, Team Manager and Bookkeeper. This position is crucial for the club’s financial stability and includes jointly presenting annual and quarterly budget proposals to the Board.
- Knowledgeable with Team Unify, HY-TEK, Colorado Timing System and OME as well as MS Office and Google Workspace suite of software.
- Responsible for overseeing the execution of PEAK hosted swim meets to offer appropriate competition opportunities for PEAK athletes and to secure budgeted meet revenue.
- Grow PEAK’s business by increasing both team size and revenue.
- Attend and lead team organized events
- Employees are required to dress in appropriate attire; Team shirts to be provided

Minimum Requirements
- 3-5+ years coaching experience; head coach experience preferred
- Establish and ensure consistent, timely communication with swimmers, parents, coaches, and Board members
- Maintain current USA Swimming coaching certifications, SafeSport certification, Red Cross Lifeguard certification, or ability to obtain
