Izzy Ivey has had a long and illustrious swimming career, winning medals for Team USA internationally as a junior swimmer and becoming an NCAA Champion with the Cal Bears and Florida Gators. But at age 24, the now pro-swimmer had yet to qualify for a senior international level meet… until this summer.
Swimming at the US Trials in June, Ivey qualified for the World University Games in the 200 free. When she got to Berlin, she was given a relay opportunity on Day 1 in the 4×100 free relay and took full advantage, helping the team win gold.
Ivey was put on every subsequent Team USA women’s and mixed relay, helping each squad earn gold. She also won a bronze medal individually in the 200 free.
