There were more personal bests and movement up the all-time rankings in the boys’ 13-14 age group for Dante Framke at the Minnesota 11-14 State Championships.
A 14-year-old swimming for New Hope Crystal Plymouth Swim Club, Framke swam a personal best time of 23.99 on the lead-off leg of the 200 free relay. That time put him 2nd this season in the 50 free for the 13-14 age group and into a tie for 21st all-time.
His previous best was 24.57.
Framke won the individual 50 free in a time of 24.31 and the 100 free (53.64), 50 back (27.38), and 200 back (2:13.75) in personal best times. He also captured the 100 back in 1:02.73 and swam a personal best 100 back time of 1:02.27 in a leadoff leg of the 400 medley relay.
Framke owns the third-fastest time this season in the 50 back and the 12th-fastest in the 100 free in the 13-14 age group.
In the team competition, the Aquajets Swim Team swept the combined, girls’ and boys’ titles.
Other individual standouts were:
- Josey Solt, an 11-year-old from Aquajets Swim Team, set a personal best time of 33.37 to win the 50 back in the girls’ competition. Solt swam a personal best 100 back time of 1:10.39 in the lead-off leg of the 4×100 medley relay and now has the fifth-fastest times among 11-year-old girls in both those events this season. Solt was also 2nd in the 100 back (1:11.17), 200 back (personal best 2:33.25) and 100 fly (personal best 1:11.52). She has the seventh-fastest time this season among 11-year-old girls in the 200 back.
- Miranda Francois, a 14-year-old from South Metro Storm, won the 50 breast in 33.28 and the 100 breast in 1:13.31 during the girls’ competition, both in personal best times. In the 13-14 girls’ age group this season, Francois has the fifth-fastest time in the 50 breast.
- Also in the girls’ event,13-year-old Maddie Mathieson of St. Croix Swim Club won the 200 breast in 2:41.80 and was 2nd in both the 50 breast (personal best 33.35) and 100 breast (1:13.61). In the 13-14 girls’ age group this season, she has the seventh-fastest time in the 50 breast.
- In the boys’ event, Parker Miller, a 14-year-old from St. Croix Swim Club, won the 100 breast (1:09.06) and 200 IM (2:12.79) in personal best times, and he also won the 200 breast (2:30.62). Miller added 2nd-place finishes in the 50 free (personal best 24.96), 100 free (personal best 54.71) and 400 IM (4:54.18).
- Jason Lou, a 12-year-old from the Aquajets Swim Team, won five events in the boys’ competition, all in personal best times. Lou topped the field in the 100 free (1:01.35), 100 breast (1:18.87), 100 fly (1:06.96), 200 IM (2:30.98) and 400 IM (5:22.39).
