Ludhiana: Chandigarh Road (Indrapuri) sector 32 sthit School of Eminence (SOE) ke inauguration ke 6 mahine baad, do swimming coaches ki appointment ke saath wahan swimming pool functional ho gaya hai.
TOI ne June me iss issue ke baare me bataya tha ki sector 32 ka School of Eminence state ka akmatra government school hai, jisme swimming pool hai, but inauguration ke baad se hi isme swimming coach nahi hai. SOE ka inauguration 3 March 2024 ko Punjab ke CM Bhagwant Singh Maan and Delhi ke CM Arvind Kejriwal ne kiya tha, but swimming coach ki kami ki wajah se ise start nahi kiya ja saka.
Baad me Ludhiana ke district education office ne school me swimming coach ki demand ke regarding deputy director (physical education) and director of school education ke saamne matter uthaya.
Sports Authority of India se qualified and Swimming Federation of India se certified Saurabh Sharma, swimming and water polo coach honge, jabki Bharat Kumar, jo assistant coach honge, sports and NIS short course me qualified hain.
Education department ke district sports officer Kulvir Singh ne kaha, “ formalities complete karne and coach select me time laga, but ab pichhe mudkar nahi dekhna padega kyuki pool 25 October tak aur phir session ki shuruaat i.e. 1 April se start hoga.”
Notably, PAU me held district level swimming competitions me various government schools ke 30 students ne participate kiya hai.
Indrapuri sthit School of Eminence ke principal Jasvinder Singh ne kaha, “Main coach and assistant coach dono ne 4 September ko join kiya tha aur pool ko clean and filter kiya tha. Humne Tuesday ko first batch start kiya hai. Ab 11th and 12th class ke 50 boys ne enroll kiya hai but hum definitely shed ki demand raise karenge taaki girls bhi Swimming seekh sakein.”
Class 12th (Humanities) ke ak student Dharminder Singh ne kaha, “ Mere Friends aur main aksar school premises me band pade pool ke baare me baat karte the, lekin mujhe khushi hai ki aakhirkar start kar diya gaya hai. Ab main swimming seekhunga.” District education officer (secondary) Dimple Madaan ne kaha, “ Pool pe crores ka expenditure students ko benefit dega. Do coach hone se students ko swimming ki training dena easy hoga aur unki safety bhi ensure hogi.”
