Lawrenceville, Georgia’s Klaudia Holt has signed a National Letter of Intent with Georgia Southern University for the 2017-18 season. Holt is a senior at Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee; she swims year-round with Swim Atlanta.

“I chose Georgia Southern because I was able to instantly connect with the girls on the team. They were all so inviting and fun and I could just see myself getting along with for the next four years of my life. The coaching staff was also a great plus and I loved the positive mindset and vibe that I got from being down there and with them all. It was really important for me to find a place that I could call home and I found that Georgia Southern is definitely that place for me.”

At the 2016 Georgia 6A State Championships, Holt placed seventh in the 500 free and 12th in the 200 free. She was third and second in those respective events at the county meet, and has been a top-10 finisher at county in each of her first three high school seasons. She was named to the All-County First Team for 2015-16.

In club swimming Holt had a strong showing at the 2016 Southern Premier Championships last March, then went on to a summer long course season in which she improved her personal best times in eight events. Her top SCY times are:

  • 200 free – 1:54.02
  • 500 free – 5:03.04
  • 1000 free – 10:35.66
  • 200 fly – 2:10.84
  • 200 IM – 2:13.26
  • 400 IM – 4:41.37

Holt will join fellow Georgia Southern commits, swimmer Jaclyn Csubak and diver Sara Rogers, in the class of 2021.
