The Problem: to many scattered events. Need to draw all top swimmers to the same pool 4 to 6 times per year(with large payouts).

The Problem – swimming requires more training than many sports to be competitive. (Because of the nature of the sport in water). Travelling 6 times a year is very draining and takes time out from training time. Remember that places like Australia are 24 hours from Europe and 18-19 hours from the USA east coast in travel time and then there is jetlag etc .

Elite Swimmers know that jetlag is occasionally part of the game. My guess is that 4 Massive events per year(with huge payouts) is probably the sweet spot. At the end of the day, we have to get these elite swimmers in the same pool in order to draw viewership interest$$

Viewership interest…in 8 people on 8 treadmills next to each other ‘racing’ doing individual time trials simultaneously, and the camera is positioned behind them we don’t see their faces. Oh, but it’s in water so everyone will find it interesting.
