All swimming tickets available through the ticket lottery in drop one for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics have sold out. Tickets first went on sale 10 days ago for Los Angeles and Oklahoma City locals.
When tickets first dropped, prices for a finals session ranged from $104.19 to $1,860.45 per session. Prelims tickets range from $49.61 to $1,116.27 per session.
All finals tickets quickly sold out during the local sale and only prelims were left for the general public with sessions beginning at $1,116.27, the highest tier price for a prelims session. It is unknown if more tickets will become available during drop two later this year, but the LA28 Olympics have posted on social media, “Due to high demand during the LA & OKC Locals Presale, certain sports do not have any more inventory in Drop 1. If you search a sport and no sessions come up, it is no longer available in this drop. More inventory will be added in subsequent drops, the next of which will be later this year.”
The only remaining tickets available for swimming at this time are the hospitality tickets being sold through On Location. Prelims sessions begin at $800 per person while finals begin at $1,750 per person.
Official ticket resales will open up in 2027, and any tickets available to purchase on the resale market before 2027 are not verified. Price controls have not been officially announced, so there is much uncertainty around affordability when the resale market officially begins.

Today was my day. Nothing available for swimming. Any explanation for this?
Central LA local here (live 25 mins. from the stadium…) who didn’t get selected for the locals drop or general drop 1. I bought a hospitality ticket for my top finals session. I’m going, dammit!
My time slot to buy tickets is this Thrs-Fri (4/16 – 4/18). I’ve already resigned myself to the fact that I’m probably not going to find anything affordable. I was willing to pay $500.00 to $1000.00 per ticket (there would be just two of us going) for something not too obsure but I think that ship has sailed. We went to the games in 1984. Back then you had to go to certin designated Sears stores (remember them?) and pick up the form in the catalog dept. You filled it out by hand and mailed it to LA (hoping the USPS didn’t loose it) and then wait several months to hear back. For some stupid reason I thought this time… Read more »
$1,750 tickets got me thinking i should just start training to make the team at this point
I shudder to think what foreigners are going to shell out on the secondary market.
I shudder to think what Americans already paid out for PRELIM sessions
The price range for prelims is crazy, A-category seats for prelims in Paris were 200 EUR (235 USD) !
the people buying prelims aren’t the people on SwimSwam on a daily basis. They just want to go watch great swimming. I respect them for that.
LA & OKC locals?
Some events are being held in OKC and a few other locations that are actually outside of the LA area/region. Buyers beware.
Guess it’s time to finally volunteer to be a timer?!?!?
Best seat in the house!
I think all the timers are officials, so maybe becoming an official is in the future?
