Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Taetum Fuller has verbally committed to Grand Canyon University’s class of 2030. Fuller publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I’m beyond blessed and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic journey at Grand Canyon University! All glory to God for making this possible, His guidance, strength, and perfect timing has led me to this moment. I’m so thankful for my parents, Coach Austin, Coach Shawn, my family, and everyone who has supported me along the way. Thank you to the amazing coaching staff at GCU for this incredible opportunity. LOPES UP!!
Top SCY Times:
- 50 Freestyle: 23.86
- 100 Freestyle: 52.43
- 200 Freestyle: 1:55.01
- 100 Backstroke: 59.51
- 200 Backstroke: 2:09.31
Fuller hails from Littleton, Colorado, where she attends Columbine High School and trains year-round with the Denver Hilltoppers. She’s primarily a sprint freestyler, though she also has a strong 200 free. She once focused on backstroke but has shifted to freestyle over the past two years—her best backstroke times are from November 2023.
Over the past season, Fuller dropped from 24.11 to 23.86 in the 50 free, 53.04 to 52.43 in the 100 free, and 1:56.87 to 1:55.01 in the 200 free. Her best times in the 50 and 200 came at the Speedo Sectionals in March, while she clocked her 100 PB at a local club meet in July.
At Sectionals, her first time qualifying for the meet, she finished 22nd in the 50 free, 40th in the 100 free, 50th in the 200 free, 79th in the 200 back, and 118th in the 100 fly.
Grand Canyon is a D1 mid-major university located in Phoenix, Arizona. Last year, they competed in the Western Athletic Conference and placed 3rd in a field of 9 teams. This year, the women joined the Mountain West Conference, where San Diego State is the four-time reigning champion.
It took times of 23.37, 50.80, and 1:51.34 in free, and 56.42 and 2:03.41 in back, to score at the 2025 Mountain West conference meet.
On the team’s 2024-25 depth chart, Fuller would have ranked fifth in the 50 free, eighth in the 200 back, ninth in both the 100 free and 100 back, and tenth in the 200 free. Fuller could find herself on the sprint relays if she can inch toward the 23- and 51-second barriers.
Fuller joins a recruiting class that includes two other publicized recruits: Mya Ernsberger, a 23.9/51.4 sprinter who is also strong in fly (56.2) and back (57.1), and Nicola Piebiak, a Polish sprinter who owns bests of 26.8 and 57.4 in the short course meter pool.
