Diogo Matos Ribeiro has scratched his second event of the meet, skipping the 100 fly after missing the 50 fly on Day 1. He was the long course World Champion in both events at the 2024 World Championships in Doha, and was the #9 seed for the 100 today.

Another youngster also scratches that event, with Italian 18-year-old Carlos D’Ambrosio pulling out as the #22 seed. He placed 14th in the semi-finals of the 200 free yesterday in 1:42.56, nearly a second off his best.

The women’s 100 fly will see Barbara Seemanova missing, after she pulled out of the Championships for medical reasons.

We have a full house in the 20 breast, but a pair of scratches in the men’s and women’s 100 back. Turkey’s #17 seed Berke Saka pulls out of the men’s event to focus on tonight’s 100 IM final where he is the #7 seed, while Anita Gastaldi scratches after placing 12th in the semi-finals of that event yesterday.

Teresa Ivan has only swum the women’s 4×50 free relay so far in Lublin and will not swim the 100 back either. She is down to anchor Slovakia’s mixed free relay at the end of session, where the National Record of 1:30.36, set last December, may be the aim.
