International Career Vazaios is a two-time Olympian from Greece. At the 2012 Olympic Games, he competed in the 200 IM and placed 26th respectively. Four years later, he qualified for the semi-final in the same event and finished 11th overall with a time of 1:59.54. Vazaios also won the European Championship title in the 200 IM at the 2016 European Championships. Most recently, he placed 9th in the 200 IM at the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest. College Career 2016-2017 Vazaios joined NC State in 2016 and had a stellar first season with the Pack. At the ACC Championships, Vazaios won the 200 IM in 1:41.25 and the 200 butterfly in 1:41.42. He also placed third in the 100 butterfly and was a part of the 800 freestyle and 400 medley relays. At the NCAA Championships, Vazaios was one of the key players for the Wolfpack. On night one, he swam the second leg in the record-breaking 800 freestyle relay. With a time of 6:06.53, the Wolfpack took the title and broke the NCAA Record. Vazaios also swam the 200 IM and finished seventh overall. To switch his event line up from the ACC Championships, Vazaios swam the 100 backstroke instead of the 100 butterfly. …
