Sierra Nevada LSC To Distribute Emergency Grant Funding To Member Clubs

Sierra Nevada Swimming (SNS), one of USA Swimming’s 59 Local Swim Committees (LSC), has taken action with teams around the country struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On March 27, the Sierra Nevada Board of Directors approved emergency grant funding as a way to provide financial aid to all of its member clubs, similar to the one announced by the Florida Gold Coast on Friday.

Grant funds will be distributed to all member clubs over a three-month period provided certain conditions are met. All clubs that qualify will receive money on the 10th of April, May and June.

The basis for the funding is that each club will be allocated $20 per registered swimmer using current registration numbers. Summer member clubs will have its numbers based on the summer of 2019.

In order to qualify, clubs must meet a certain set of criteria, primarily sharing recent financial statements with SNS.

Applications for April grants are due on April 5. May and June applications are due on May 5 and June 5, respectively.

If all clubs receive grants, SNS will dispense just over $250,000 to its member clubs. The LSC has approximately 50 clubs. As of March 26, SNS had $942,284.23 in total assets.
