Science Hill Swimming’s “Road to Conference” (VIDEO)

Tucked away in Eastern Tennessee’s Appalachian foothills, the Science Hill Hilltoppers of Johnson City released their “Road to Conference” video in preparation for their regional conference meet. Coach Chris Coraggio’s team would have taken to the Kingsport Aquatic Center this past weekend if it weren’t for the snowy weather brought on by Winter Storm Jonas. The 2016 Regional Championship Meet has been  rescheduled to commence today, January 25th, and will race in a timed finals format, meaning anyone out of any race can claim victory.

The Hilltoppers’ last showing was a runner-up finish at the 2016 Elite High School Swimming & Diving Showcase and for the first time in their swimming history, the Lady Hilltoppers defeated Baylor School of Chattanooga in swimming and diving, 154-145. Daniel Chang led Science Hill’s boys team with two of USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-America standards in the 200 yard IM (1:49.84) and 100 yard breast (55.98). Chang has announced his commitment to swim with Harvard University for the 2016-2017 season.

Science Hill’s last stop for the season is at the 2016 Tennessee State Championships on Febuary 12-13, in Nashville, TN. They’ll look to defend their combined second place title against the Baylor School, Hardin Valley Academy, and the Memphis Home Education Association.
