Odisha Me Advanced Swimming aur Underwater Rescue Training Centre Hua Open

Odisha ki water bodies aur adventure tourism mein disaster response capabilities ko ek bada boost mila, jab Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ne Friday ko Puri district ke Ramchandi beach ke paas ek advanced swimming aur underwater rescue training centre ka inauguration kiya.

Lagbhag ₹12 crore ki cost se banayi gayi is facility ke saath ek state-of-the-art scuba complex bhi hoga, jiska foundation stone bhi CM ne hi rakha, jiska aim state mein advanced underwater rescue training ko expand karna hai.

CMO ke according, newly inaugurated Odisha Watermanship and Lifeguard Institute (OSWALI) water-related rescue operations mein specialised training provide karega, jo fire services personnel, central paramilitary forces, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), police, home guards aur desh bhar mein disaster response se jude volunteers ke liye hoga.

Majhi ne kaha, “Navy ke baad, Odisha pehla state hai jisne national-level ka watermanship training institute establish kiya hai.”

Is mauke par state tourism department, Odisha Fire and Emergency Services aur National Institute of Water Sports, Goa ke beech ek Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sign kiya gaya. Yeh collaboration water sports safety standards develop karne, professional lifeguard training conduct karne, capacity building ko enhance karne aur state mein adventure aur coastal tourism ke scope ko expand karne par focus karega.

“Current budget mein ₹10 crore sanction kiye gaye hain, taaki fire service personnel aur lifeguards ki swimming aur diving skills ko aur strong banaya ja sake.

Tourism department is centre ka do main tareekon se use karega — pehla, tourist destinations, hotels aur dusri jagahon par deployed lifeguards ko training dene ke liye, taaki visitors ki safety ensure ho; aur doosra, adventure water sports ko promote karne ke liye, jismein tourists ke liye scuba diving jaise experiences shamil honge, jo state ki recently adopted adventure sports policy ke according hoga,” Majhi ne kaha.

“Ab OSWALI mein hamare paas apna robust infrastructure hai,  jahan desh bhar ki alag-alag agencies ke rescuers ko scuba diving aur water rescue techniques ki training di ja sakti hai. Pehle hamare personnel diving training ke liye Navy par depend rehte the, lekin ab unki training isi institute mein hogi,” Director General (Fire Services) Sudhansu Sarangi ne kaha.

DIG Uma Shankar Dash ne water safety ki importance ko highlight kiya. 3 May 2012 ko, Cuttack mein Mahanadi mein training ke dauran ek assistant fire officer naye underwater breathing apparatus ke saath doob gaye the.

Is facility ko water sports aur adventure activities ke hub ke roop mein develop kiya jayega. Yahan contemporary diving equipment, safety gear aur classroom facilities hongi. Internationally certified instructors yeh ensure karenge ki training global standards ke according ho,” Dash ne kaha.
