A former swim school instructor has been charged with a felony and three misdemeanor charges based on his interactions with teenage female employees. Robert N. Keller is accused of giving alcohol to the teens, using inappropriate and sexual language with them and trying to entice them away from their parents.

USOC’s Athlete & Career Education Program Awards $240,000 in Tuition Grants
The United States Olympic Committee, in partnership with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation, announced that the Athlete Career and Education Program will disburse more than $240,000 in higher education tuition grants during the spring term, a 75 percent increase from the previous distribution period.

USA Swimming Provides Permission Form Samples For MAAPP Requirements
USA Swimming has added a number of documents to its MAAPP (Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Program) page: a number of permission forms for parents to allow minor athletes to travel or stay with a specific adult, or receive care from a massage therapist or mental health professional, plus some information for clubs to include in meet information to ensure MAAPP compliance.
Adult Athletes Must Complete APT Program By Summer or Risk Ineligibility
USA Swimming will require all of its adult athletes to complete an “Athlete Protection Training” (APT) program by June 23, 2019, or risk ineligibility. An adult athlete who gets an Olympic Trials cut without completing the training could invalidate that qualifying time.
