Rebecca Groves of the LTP Racing Club and Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina has given her verbal commitment to the University of North Carolina Wilmington for 2016-17. Groves is a versatile stroke specialist who has put up some impressive backstroke, butterfly and IM times over her young career.  Her 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly times are already on the cusp of making the “B” Final at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships based on last year’s meet results.

Best SCY Times:

200 free – 1:55.77
100 fly – 57.99
200 fly – 2:07.80
200 IM – 2:09.80
100 back – 1:00.61

As for why Groves selected UNCW as her school of choice, the high schooler says, “I chose UNCW because when I visited, I immediately felt welcomed.  The team hangs out with each other and pushes each other to achieve their potential in and out of the pool.  I look forward to improving my swimming and obtaining a great education as a proud Seahawk.”
