Leeds Man Caught Spying on Chinese Olympic Swimmers

A man described by the Yorkshire Post as a “serial sex offender” was caught at the Yorkshire Sports Centre in Leeds, UK spying on three Chinese swimmers who were changing. The Sports Centre is the home to China’s pre-Olympic training camp about 200 miles north of London.

The story began disgusting and took a turn for the bizarre. The swimmers alerted the facility staff after catching 25-year old Declan Crosbie peeking at them from a toilet stall in the changing room. When the staff knocked on the door of the stall, Crosbie used a tactic most frequently seen in sitcom predicaments, and used a high-pitch articulation to try and convince the staff that he was, in fact, a woman. The move didn’t work, and he opened the door, calmly walked out in a suit with the fly undone, and after realizing the staff was attempting to detain him fled.

As a repeat offender, though, he did not disappear for long and eventually would admit to the offense and plead guilty to “trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence.” His criminal record includes climbing onto a woman’s house to film her in the shower.
