The 2026 Junior Pan Pacific Championships are bound for Vancouver, Canada from August 17th through August 20th and we now know who will be representing the nation of Japan at the prestigious competition.

A roster of 28 swimmers, comprised of 16 males and 12 females, will do their best against the likes of Canada, Australia and the United States as a preview to the rising talent among the nations.

Canada and Australia have each revealed their lineups already; however, the U.S. roster will be selected from the upcoming U.S. Nationals which run from July 28th to August 1st.

Highlighting the Japanese lineup is Hinata Ando, the 17-year-old who downed Olympic champion Kosuke Hagino‘s SCM 400 freestyle National High School Record this past March.

16-year-old Toya Hirata has already landed on multiple international junior podiums, owning two World Junior Championships relay golds from last year in Romania.

Finally, Raito Numata busted out a new 400m free PB just last month to become Japan’s 6th-fastest male in history.

At the 2024 edition of the Junior Pan Pacific Championships, Japan placed 2nd behind powerhouse the United States in the swimming medal table. Japan came away with 21 pieces of hardware in total, including 6 golds, 5 silvers and 10 bronze medals.
