GMX7 Weekly Wonders of Age Group Swimming – 9/3/2021

In our GMX7 Weekly Wonders of Age Group Swimming series, we celebrate swimmers of every age and experience level with age group profiles of some recent results.

Charlotte Milkie, 12, Circle City Aquatics (CCAQ-CA): At the STAR BRW meet in Hemet, California, Circle City Aquatics’ Milkie went six-for-six in setting personal best times, hitting four first-place finishes and two runner-up showings. The 12-year-old’s performances were highlighted by her 25.68 clocking in the 50 free and her 54.93 in the 100 free.

Mitchell Ledford, 16, Treasure Coast Swimming Conquistadores (TCSC-FL): Competing at his home pool in Sebastian, Florida, Ledford raced 10 times in two days at the TCSC Sprint Invite, achieving five new personal best times. That included a blazing 22.50 in the boys’ 50 butterfly, which is the ninth-fastest 16&U time of the 2020-21 season.

Aaron Gordon, 12, Cbs Islanders (CBS-FL): Gordon, also competing at the TCSC Sprint Invite, hit lifetime bests in all seven of his events, including times of 25.22/53.59 in the 50 and 100 freestyles.

Sawyer Hackett, 12, Cocoa Beach Tsunami Swimmers (CBTS-FL): Racing alongside Gordon in Florida, Hackett also nailed seven best times out of the nine events he swam, including rattling off a 25.32 in the 50 free, which tied his PB set just two weeks prior.

Allie Fields, 12, Circle City Aquatics (CCAQ-CA): Joining teammate Milkie, Fields swam to six PBs at the STAR BRW meet, including a 32.36 clocking in the 50 breaststroke. Fields also was 1:10.65 in the 100 breast, just off her lifetime best of 1:10.41 set earlier this year.
