Kelsey has been swimming since she was a young girl in Butler Pennsylvania. In high school Kelsey was very successful earning a spot at the PIAI AA State Championship meet both her junior and senior year. Kelsey Committed to Westminster in 2012.
Kelsey’s success from high school carried into her first year as a titan. After a strong normal season she managed to post best times in all three of her individual events at the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship meet. She placed top eight in the 100 and 200 back as well as in the 200 I.m taking second in both backstrokes and fourth in the I.M. Kelsey also contributed to the 400 and 800 freestyle relays and the 400 medley relay all of which took second place.
Kelsey saw varied success in her sophomore year at Westminster. At the Wooster Invitational mid-season meet she posted a best time in her 100 backstroke taking sixth place. At the PAC championship meet Kelsey fell short of her personal records although her scoring contribution remained considerable. Swimming the 100 and 200 backstrokes and the 200 I.M she placed third, fourth, and fifth respectively. Kelsey also helped the 200 medley relay take second place.
Kelsey was dominant throughout her junior year going undefeated in the 100 backstroke in the conference duel meet season. At the PAC championship meet Kelsey managed a personal record in the 100 backstroke although she fell just short of her best times in the 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley events taking second in the 100 and fifth in both the 200 I.M and Back. Along with her individual events Kelsey also helped the teams 200 medley take first place.
Kelsey is an early childhood education major and plans to be a teacher after graduation. She was also a women’s team captain for the titans in the 2014-2015 season.
