Jacob Ritter

Jacob Ritter
Jacob Ritter is a six-foot-three mid-distance swimmer for the University of Texas. The economics major is from nearby Bellaire, Texas, where he attended Bellaire High School. Ritter was a raw talent coming out of high school, never having lifted weights or done many dry land exercises, but has become a driving force for Texas.

Immediately after jumping into collegiate swimming, Ritter qualified for the NCAA Championships — hough he claims he was not expecting to be an NCAA qualifier his freshman season. He finished 20th in the 1,650 and 31st in the 500 freestyle. Ritter was also the 2012 Big 12 runner-up in the 500 freestyle.

Ritter developed a stronger third event in his sophomore season, which qualified him to swim three individual events for the NCAA Championships. He finished 30th in the 200 freestyle preliminaries, 31st in the 1650 freestyle and 40th in the 500 freestyle.

Ritter, once again, qualified for the NCAA Championships for the third consecutive year. He finished 23rd in the 1,650, touching in a best time.

International Competition
Jacob Ritter has swam on both the senior national and international levels. At the 2012 US Olympic Trials he finished 15th in the 400m freestyle, 21st in the 1500m freestyle and 32nd in the 200m freestyle.

In the summer of 2013 Ritter was selected to represented the US at the 2013 World University Games.
