This Chicago native began her swim career at the age of seven after watching her big sister compete on a team. Emma swam with YMCA TOPS team based in Oak Park, Illinois and made it to the YMCA Long Course Nationals. While she isn’t swimming, Emma loves to sail. She came to John Carroll University looking to gain collegiate athlete experience and major in psychology.
Emma competed for the Oak Park River Forest High School Huskies under coach Clyde Lundgren. During her junior and senior seasons, Emma was a member of a state qualifying freestyle relay that also broke a 24 year old school record. Her positive experience and team camaraderie during high school led Emma to pursue swimming in college.
2014-2015: For her freshman season, Emma proved to be a jack of all trades. She competed in sprint freestyle events, the 400-yard IM and some breaststroke. At her first Ohio Athletic Conference meet, she placed 14th in the 200-yard IM and 9th in the 400-yard IM.
