Hailing from Mexico City, Mexico, Alejandra Garcia Sanchez’s long trip from home was worthwhile. Sanchez’s versatility has been essential to Asheville’s success.
Sanchez grew up in Mexico City, Mexico with her parents and younger brother. She began swimming at age ten for Centro de Actividades Acuáticas de Alto Nivel. She would swim with this team until high school graduation.
Sanchez enjoyed an incredibly successful high school swimming career at The American School Foundation. Most notably, she had the opportunity to represent her country. Sanchez was a member of the Mexican National Team and medaled at Mexican Nationals.

At the Bulldogs double-dual meet against Gardner-Webb and Marshall, Sanchez was the top point scorer in both the 500 and 200 freestyle events.
