Aqua Centurions Snag Italian Fly Record Holder Matteo Rivolta

The Rome-based International Swimming League (ISL) squad Aqua Centurions announced that Matteo Rivolta will be joining the team for its inaugural season. The 27-year-old will be joining the likes of Elena Di Liddo, Simone Sabbioni and the team captain herself, 200m free World Champion Gwangju, Federica Pellegrini.

“I can’t wait to be joining @isl_aquacenturions Team this fall. Look forward to challenging the world’s best swimmers. Let’s rock it.” is what Rivolta posted on Instagram today, August 1st.

Rivolta is the Italian National Record holder in the men’s SCM 100 fly. He took silver in that event at the 2015 European Short Course Championships, upgrading it to gold at the 2017 edition in Copenhagen.

At the 2019 Italian Nationals in April, Rivolta finished 4th in both the 50m and 100m fly events, registering times of 23.87 and 52.75.

Personal Bests for Matteo Rivolta:

  • 50 Fly: 23.65 LCM; 22.79 SCM
  • 100 Fly: 51.54 LCM; 49.54 SCM
