Adam Peaty Guida La Squadra Britannica Per I Mondiali In Corta

Con i Campionati Mondiali FINA di nuoto in vasca corta del 2022 all’orizzonte, British Swimming ha reso nota la formazione di 11 atleti che si recheranno a Melbourne, in Australia, dal 13 al 18 dicembre.

A guidare il gruppo c’è un quartetto di olimpionici: Ben Proud, Anna Hopkin, Adam Peaty e Tom Dean, mentre i nuovi arrivati Lewis Burras e Medi Harris si sono guadagnati un posto nella lista.

All’edizione 2021 dei Campionati Mondiali in vasca corta di Abu Dhabi, la Gran Bretagna ha inviato 13 nuotatori, ottenendo solo 2 medaglie in totale. Ben Proud è salito sul podio dei 50 metri stile libero maschili, mentre Molly Renshaw ha conquistato il bronzo nei 200 metri rana femminili.

L’incontro di Melbourne conclude un anno intenso per gli atleti britannici, che hanno partecipato ai Campionati del Mondo in vasca lunga, ai Giochi del Commonwealth e ai Campionati Europei. Soprattutto Proud ha fatto la storia diventando contemporaneamente campione del mondo, del Commonwealth ed europeo a nei 50m stile libero.

Per quanto riguarda Peaty, come vi avevamo anticipato, ritornerà in gara dopo una stagione complicata da un infortunio.
