Chicago Wolfpack Aquatic Club’s Franchesca Sanchez has committed to Tulane University for the fall of 2026.

As a senior at Saint Ignatius College Prep, Sanchez finished 2nd in her lone individual event, the 100 fly, at the IHSA Girls State Championships in November. She set a best time of 54.47 to finish runner-up. She entered the finals as the 5th seed.
The following week, Sanchez competed at the IL FMC Speedo Grand Challenge, where she continued to set short-course bests. She added three best times on the meet, including the 200 freestyle (1:56.55), 100 backstroke (57.03), and 200 back (2:05.59).
Sanchez also holds best sprint freestyle times in the 50 free of 23.24 and 100 free in 52.08.

The Tulane women finished 3rd at the 2025 American Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships last season.
Based on Sanchez’s best times, she would have qualified for the ‘A’ final in the 100 fly, ‘B’ final in the 50 free, and ‘C’ final in the 100 free.
Sanchez’s 100 fly is already at a championship level for the AAC. She has set most of her notable lifetime bests in the last two months, which signals a positive trajectory for her collegiate career.
In November of 2024, Sanchez’s best time sat at 56.24. Since then, she has been faster than that seven times.
Sanchez joins Tamara Elekes, Emma Barr, Kaylee Daniell, and Audrey Deras in Tulane’s 2026 recruiting class.
