Audrey Derivaux Drops 1:51.9 200 Back, 1:54.9 200 Fly At Jersey Wahoos Thanksgiving Meet

Outside of an early October intrasquad, 2025 World Junior champion Audrey Derivaux raced for the first time in the 2025-26 season in mid-November at the Jersey Wahoos Thanksgiving ABBC Meet, setting one nation-leading time and four others that rank in the top 10 this season in her age group.

The 16-year-old, who announced her commitment to the University of Texas one day after the meet concluded, put up a time of 1:51.97 in the 200 back, ranking her #1 in the country this season in the girls’ 15-16 age group, sitting more than two seconds ahead of Schroeder Swim Team’s Maggie Dickinson (1:54.04).

Derivaux’s personal best of 1:50.91, set last December, ranks her 9th all-time in the 15-16 age group.

In addition to the 200 back, Derivaux also clocked 1:54.95 in the 200 fly, ranking her 2nd in the nation this season in the girls’ 15-16 age group, while her swims in the 100 fly (53.25) and 200 IM (1:58.85) both rank 5th, and her 200 free showing of 1:47.09 ranks 10th. In the 200 breast, she was eight-tenths shy of her lifetime best in 2:16.54 to rank 22nd in the nation this season.

Another standout at the meet was Derivaux’s Jersey Wahoos teammate Alex Goodman, also 16, who set four new best times and moved into the top 10 this season in the boys’ 15-16 age group in four events.

Goodman set a new best time of 48.32 in the 100 fly, ranking him 9th this season in the age group, while his PBs in the 200 back (1:47.84) and 200 IM (1:49.28) both rank 10th. He also set a best of 1:38.85 in the 200 free to tie for 17th among 15-16 boys this season.

In the 200 fly, he clocked 1:48.35, good for 9th in the age group this season, with his lifetime best of 1:46.40, set last season, ranking him 63rd all-time in the age group.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

  • Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics’ Milly Birch, 14, set lifetime bests in four freestyle events (200-1650), including a 16:41.73 clocking in the 1650 to rank her 2nd this season in the girls’ 13-14 age group. She also moved to 5th this season in the 1000 free (10:10.27), 7th in the 500 free (4:55.84) and 18th in the 200 free (1:51.84).
  • Alyce Lehman of the Jersey Wahoos set a pair of notable season-bests in the butterfly events, clocking 53.42 in the 100 and 1:59.42 in the 200 to rank 13th and 11th, respectively, among 17-year-old girls this season.
  • Thirteen-year-old Madison Suchecki of the Suburban Seahawks set personal best times across the board, highlighted by her swim in the 200 fly, where she clocked 2:04.17 to rank 2nd this season among 13-year-old girls. She also went 2:20.27 in the 200 breast to rank 5th, 1:52.15 in the 200 free to rank 7th, and 57.85 in the 100 back to rank 9th.
  • Jersey Wahoos’ Luke Bickett set five personal bests at the meet, moving into the top 25 among 15-year-old boys this season in three of them. Bickett clocked 1:52.45 in the 200 IM to rank 13th, 4:01.25 in the 400 IM to rank 17th, and 2:05.39 in the 200 breast to rank 21st.

It’s hard to comprehend that 1:50.91 is only 9th in 15-16 age group.

Not that I disagree but if you think about the pedigree of 200 backstrokers recently it’s not super shocking smith, curzan, crush just to name a few
