Futures Finalist Quinn Caputo To Join Texas A&M For Fall of 2027

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Nation’s Capital Swim Club’s Quinn Caputo has verbally committed to join the Texas A&M men’s program for the fall of 2027.

I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to pursue my athletic and academic career at Texas A&M University! I am very blessed to have this opportunity and would like to thank the coaches who have gotten me here – Coaches Jeremy and Nicole Linn and Bryce Bohman – along with my future head coach, Blaire Anderson. Thank you for believing in me and leading me to where I am today. I’d also like to thank God and my family who support me through all of the ups and downs in my swimming career and who make this all possible. Go Aggies, GIG ‘EM!

The Haymarket, Va., native swam in a pair of finals at the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Greensboro (LCM) this summer. He earned two 6th-place finishes in the 200 backstroke (2:03.94) and 400 IM (4:29.09), notching best times in both races. Caputo added lifetime bests in the 100 back (57.90) and 1500 freestyle (16:11.25) in Greensboro.

Caputo was a finalist in two events at the 2025 VISAA State Championships. As a sophomore at Saint Paul VI High School, Caputo finished 5th in both the 200 free (1:44.51) and 500 free (4:42.77).

One of his best short course performances came at the NCAP Invitational in December, where Caputo rewrote his own personal record book. There, he marked best times in the 200 free (1:40.73), 500 free (4:28.58), 1000 free (9:18.04), 1650 free (15:24.98), 200 back (1:48.86), and 400 IM (3:58.57).

Best Times SCY:

  • 200 Free: 1:40.73
  • 500 Free: 4:28.58
  • 1000 Free: 9:18.04
  • 1650 Free: 15:24.98
  • 100 Back: 49.76
  • 200 Back: 1:48.86
  • 200 IM: 1:53.25
  • 400 IM: 3:58.57

The Texas A&M men finished 5th at the 2025 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships last season.

Based on Caputo’s best times, he would have placed 52nd in the 200 free, 44th in the 500 free, and 31st in the 1650 free.

Caputo’s mid-distance and distance freestyle skills are apparent, but the flexibility he has with his backstroke and IM ability is intriguing.

The Aggie men were not particularly strong in the distance events last year, only scoring four points in the 500 and nine points in the 1650 at SECs a season ago. With two seasons still to grow, Caputo could find himself helping the Aggie men build the distance potential in an effort to rise in the SEC.

Caputo joins Micah Tennison, Alex Barone, and Parker Knapp in the Aggies’ 2027 recruiting class.
