The next Summer Olympic Games are set for 2028 in Los Angeles, California and organizers have just revealed the plan for tickets to the world’s biggest sporting event.
Official LA28 Tickets for the 2028 Olympic Games will go on sale in January 2026 and 2028 Paralympic Games tickets will be available for purchase in 2027.
In the process outlined on the official LA28 website, interested parties will need to register for the ticket draw once the 2026 registration period begins. If selected in the random draw, potential spectators will be assigned a time slot for one of the ticket drops. Fans not selected in the first round of ticket drops will be automatically entered into following slots.
Additional information on the process with timing is expected later this year.
“The LA28 Games will be an opportunity to purchase a ticket to history,” LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover said in a statement.
“Whether you’re a local family attending your first Olympic or Paralympic event or a global traveler joining us for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, there really will be something for everyone across our suite of ticket options and hospitality packages.” (LA Times)

The games end with swimming. Someone who knows someone who knows someone should ensure the last event of the program is the women’s 400 medley relay. Someone, I don’t know, with “gold medal,” as a nickname.
Ok I’ll see what I can do.
Say no more!
Isn’t it always? Or at least the 2 medley relays are literally always the last 2 events?
I feel like I’m missing a joke
Swimming is usually the first week, with the other “big” sport — track and field — overlapping slightly and then taking over the second week. But this year the swimming is pushed to the back end because of the need to construct the pool after the opening ceremonies — in the same venue.
Hoping to attend since I live in the area.
Any guesses on prices?
♾️
A gazillion dollars is my guess. I may go to pan pacs next summer but ill never give the IOC a dime. My guess for finals tickets is $1200 each. They like to package the tickets with ridiculously priced hotel and food included.
If your lucky enough to be early in the draw, maybe a couplr hundred a ticket for finals. If youre later in the draw 700+ would be my guess…basing this off paris prices
I went to Finals on night one and Prelims day 2 in Paris. 4 tickets in the second row on the pool deck were ~$2800 (700 each) for finals and $1800 ($450) for prelims. By second row I mean it was me, a person in front of me, a wall, 20 feet and the pool.
Im not arguing it was “cheap” but it certainly wasn’t anywhere near what people said it was going to be.
My experience was everything dropped in price about 3 weeks before the event (tickets and AirBnB). I was in London so it was just a chunell ride over. If you do not get tickets via the lottery just wait until the “last minute” and… Read more »
Opening Ceremonies will be starting at $3600 each
Don’t really care about the ticket plan. Just setup the home track schedule so Syd the Great can double up on the 400flat and 400hurdles
Would that double gold be more impressive than Marchand’s 200 fly-200 breast performance?
They’re not in the same day but yes. Multiple WRs in play. One being enhanced. Equivalent to Summer knocking off the 200 fly record
Yes absolutely.
Sydney McLaughlin is already one of the track all time greats with ridiculously crazy insanely fast 50.37 400 hurdles and 47.78 400 flat.
That would be like Marchand swimming 3:58 400 IM and 3:38 400 free.
I love swimming more than track, but if I have to choose between watching Sydney McLaughlin running or Marchand swimming, I’d choose McLaughlin in a heart beat.
Hear hear!
I’m usually against fixing schedule to benefit a particular athlete, but in this case I’m 100% for a schedule that enable McLaughlin to do the double. Just place 400 flat at the beginning of track schedule and 400h at the end.
I’m just happy you used the right words for “Hear, hear!” So many people write, “here.” Phillistines.
How much will they be?
