Metrowater recently renovated Marina Swimming Pool me 3.41 crores ki lagat se 4.5 MLD (million litres a day) capacity ka ak new recycling and filtration plant banane ja raha hai. Ye step Greater Chennai Corporation ne October 2024 me 1.4 crores ki lagat se iske revamp and inauguration ke baad public swimming pool me jada logon ke aane ke baad uthaya gaya hai. Tab tak pool me koi repair aur improvement nahi kiya gaya tha, kyunki iska construction World War II ke dauran 1942 me Britishers ne kiya gaya tha.
Current renovations me baithne ke liye new roof, new bathing facilities, upgraded dressing rooms, restrooms, improved lighting, fresh tiling and artistic murals and pool ke surrounding ke walkway ka beautification shaamil hai.
Iske alawa, GCC ne payment and session booking ke liye QR-code system implement ki hai. Adults ke liye 50 Rs per hour aur 12-14 saal ke bachchon ke liye 30 Rs / hour set kiya gaya hai, online booking ke liye 10% ka discount available hai.
Pool me existing recycling plant 20 saal pahle set kiya gaya tha aur last kuchh years me ye kharab ho gaya hai. Metrowater ke ak official ne bataya, “Plant me use kiye gaye water ko recycle karne ke dauran pool ko aksar band karna padta tha.” “Ab yah swimming pool ke time ke dauran chalta rahega.” Pool Monday ko chhodkar subah 5:30 baje se shaam 7:30 baje tak khula rahta hai.
Metrowater sand, gravel and anthracite se bane multi-media filter ke saath new plant set karega. Use kiya gaya water turbidity remove karne ke liye plant ke through jayega. Phir clean water ko wapas pool me bheja jayega.

Water board ne e-tender mangwaye hain, jo December 2024 me khole jayenge aur kaam 3-4 mahine me complete ho jayega.
