FINA has handed out the 2016 Best Female Water Polo Team, which has been awarded to the United States.
The USA defeated everyone and the World Championships with ease and the same at the Olympic Qualification Tournament, to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. They maintained their undefeated run by taking the World League title, while heading into Rio as the overwhelming favorite.
Their closest match in Rio was a four point gap, but nowhere in their quest for Olympic gold were they shaken.
In 2016, the US Water Polo team won every game that they played.
