Aussie label Funkita has launched its latest collection Break Out recruiting Australian Olympians Blair Evans and Taylor McKeown to model the graphic, eye-catching new prints that the brand has become synonymous for over the last 12 years.
Two-time Olympian and London 2012 silver medallist Blair Evans showcased the new Funkita collection at her local training venue, Beatty Leisure Centre in Perth, Western Australia. After an injury interrupted build up to Rio, Evans stepped up to swim a 4:38.9 in the 400IM heats.
Rio Olympic silver medallist Taylor McKeown was poolside at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games venue to model the new Funkita collection. The 24-year-old won silver with teammates Emily Seebohm, Cate Campbell and Emma McKeon in the 4 x 100m medley relay. In her individual events, McKeown came fifth in the 200m breaststroke in 2:22.4 and 11th in the 100m breaststroke in 1:07.1.

As part of the latest launch, seven-time World Surfing Champion Layne Beachley collaborated with Funkita to produce the Surf Star and Beach Dream prints to support her ‘Aim for the Stars’ Foundation. 10% of profit from sales of the prints inspired by Beachley’s amazing career go towards the foundation which provides financial scholarships and support for young girls and women to invest in their future and fulfil their potential in all endeavours, becoming leaders and beacons of inspiration in their community.
