Leon Marchand Docuseries ‘Leon: Beyond Gold’ Now Available on France TV

Olympic Champion and World Record holder Leon Marchand can now add ‘TV Celebrity’ to his running list of achievements, as a three-part docuseries titled “Leon: Beyond Gold” is now available to watch on France TV.

The series, directed by Sacha Vučinić and Leon’s Father, Xavier Marchand, follows Marchand in a feature miniseries that highlights the French prodigy’s life outside the water.

The docuseries trailer can be seen below:

In a report from Deadline, Marchand details the series, which focuses on his life after a monumental 2024 Olympics performance in his home country, saying that he was “confused” after a four-gold performance that further cemented his status as one of the top swimmers on the planet today.

“At the beginning of the movie, we can see it, I’m confused, I don’t know where I’m going,” Marchand said in a report from Deadline. “Paris was so big. It was a dream and a goal for French athletes and athletes around the world. So, when you do well, what’s after that? I realized later that there’s so much more. But it took me a long time to process it.”

The series dives not only into swimming but also into who he is away from the water.

“After Paris, a lot of people probably thought I had reached a destination,” Marchand said. “In reality, I found myself asking new questions: who am I when I’m not racing, when I’m not in the pool, and what remains when everything slows down?”

The first episode, titled ‘Far from the Noise,’ explores the feelings that Marchand dealt with after the Olympics in Paris, with the episode’s description saying that after his showing, “everything became harder.” Having lost his spark, he became the man to beat.”

Episode two, ‘The Bowman Method’ looks at Marchand’s return to the United States, training with legendary coach Bob Bowman, and the student life that Marchand lived while working with one of the world’s most elite training groups.

The third and final episode, titled ‘In Harmony’, dives into the 2025 World Championships in Singapore, but focuses on what he hopes to get out of the meet beyond world titles. It also hints at Marchand’s love of music, noting that he composed the series’ music.
