Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Lexi Parkinson of Danville, California, has committed to swim and study at the University of California-San Diego, beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. She trains year-round with Diablo Aquatics and attends San Ramon Valley High School.
She confirmed the commitment to SwimSwam in an email, writing:
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at UC San Diego!! I’m so grateful for this incredible opportunity! I want to thank my friends, family, and especially my coaches for supporting me throughout this journey. It is without them I could not be where I am today. I especially want to thank Coach Marko and Coach Cassie for giving me the chance to be a part of such a great team! Go Tritons!!
The future Triton’s two target meets of the high school season were the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) North Coast Sectional Championships and the CIF State Championships, both held in early May.
At Sectionals, she helped San Ramon Valley secure gold in two relay events: the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. She anchored the medley with a 23.05 split before notching a lifetime-best 51.48 leading off the victorious free relay. On the individual front, she touched seventh in the 50 free (23.72) and 13th in the 100 free (51.94), and produced a best time of 51.80 in the 100 prelims before lowering it on leg one of the relay.
Parkinson was able to maintain top form through the State Championships, where she once again proved pivotal on the relays. She opted out of the individual 100 free to swim all three relays instead. She slotted into fly on the runner-up medley relay with a 24.64 split and led off the 400 free relay that took fourth with a 51.56 split just off her best. She also logged 22.90 on the 200 free relay that finished eighth and clocked a best time of 23.56 for 13th in the 50 free.
Top SCY Times:
- 50 Freestyle: 23.53
- 100 Freestyle: 51.48
- 100 Butterfly: 57.54
- 100 Backstroke: 58.30
The UCSD program is currently under the direction of head coach Marko Djordjevic, who took the reins in July of 2019. The women finished second out of six teams at the 2025 Big West Championships.
Parkinson will be a valuable addition to UCSD’s roster in all of her main events. Her lifetime best in the 50 free would have ranked fourth on the team’s depth chart for the 2024–25 season, while her top time in the 100 free would have placed her seventh. In the 100 fly and 100 back, her best times would have ranked ninth and tenth.
At the 2025 Big West meet, where ‘A’ and ‘B’ finals are offered, Parkinson’s best times would have put her in the ‘B’ final of both the 50 and 100 free. It took times of 55.56 and 57.71 to score in the 100 fly and 100 back, respectively.
Parkinson joins Sofia Wyzga, Sofija Gelev, Audrey Shambo, Lulu Groen, Addison Finn, Megan Wang, and Keira De Jong in UCSD’s Class of 2030.
