Ryan Lochte may be Karina Smirnoff’s Partner on Dancing with the Stars

According to ET Television, mere days from the Dancing With The Stars (season 17) cast reveal, dancer Karina Smirnoff toyed with fans, hinting that 11-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte could be her partner.

There are, of course, many famous actors and athletes with the first name Ryan, but Smirnoff’s quote, according to entertainment industry insiders, could confirm the swirling speculation surrounding Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte’s interest in DWTS.

Smirnoff ET quote:

“I’m just going to say my partner’s first name is Ryan,” Smirnoff divulged at POM Wonderful’s tropical flavors launch in Las Vegas on Thursday. “So you go wild–Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling…you pick! But it’s Ryan, and it is a hottie.”

If Lochte is, in fact, a part of the DWTS cast, he’s already proven he can handle starring in a television series while maintaining his world-class edge in the pool. After concluding production on his reality show What Would Ryan Lochte Do for E!, Lochte made the USA World  Championship Team in more events than any other male swimmer.

Dancing With The Stars‘ 17th season premieres Monday, September 16th on ABC.

I just did the math and it kind of works out. The Grand Prix of Minnesota is the same week that DWTS ends. If Lochte is on, it’s going to be cutting in close. Although it’s not really a major race on the grand prix from my angle, it’s going to be interesting to see what happens.

Lochte needs to just stick to the pool and forget about DWTS or his reality show. He just doesn’t have what it takes to be a compelling entertainer, but is great in the pool.

As cool as it would be to watch Ryan Lochte on DWTS, I don’t think it will be; he said that he wanted to start training in Australia and this would completely ruin those plans. Even with What would Ryan Lochte Do where he continued his training on camera, he still had trouble training. On the other hand, I can’t think of any major meets coming up so maybe it will be him.

Next year is crucial for the US swimmers. They qualify next summer for the 2015 world championships.

Lochte turned it down earlier this year mainly because of the fact that he shooting his own reality show. I guess that he realize that it wasn’t going to work out and decided that this was the best thing to do was go on one that was already established. Then again, we could see some other Ryan doing it, but I doubt that ABC had the money to get either Reynolds or Gosling for that matter.

Isn’t Ryan going back to serious training this week? Why would he do this now? We shall see what transpires.

How does this make you think of a Phelps comeback? Don’t see any mention of Phelps, not sure how you came to that conclusion!!

Phelps tweeted that he was excited about something tomorrow. Though conor Dwyer then replied and referenced 845 (and a train? Or. Something… Don’t quite remember ….)… So not sure if it’s a return to the pool unfortunately…

In other news… Smirnoff posted a video of her partners torso… Just look like Ryan at all…which makes sense because it seems like after worlds ryan was ready to go back to training seriously.
