Editor’s Note: SwimSwam is not a voting member in these polls, which are posted here as a courtesy to the CSCAA.

The Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has released their December 22nd NCAA Division II polls and there has been little change since the first poll was released on November 14th.

The top four on each side remains unchanged, save that UC San Diego being tied for 3rd has become being 4th place on their own in the new poll.

The biggest movement at the top of the polls came from Lindenwood, who jumped from 12th in the last rankings to 8th in the current rankings. After winning the Delta State Christmas Invitationals, which included beating new #12 Delta State.

That win included putting up the 5th-best 200 free relay in the country so far this season, as well as top 10 relays in both the 400 and 800 free.

The men’s poll was also fairly active from 5-15, with the biggest move being the drop of St. Leo from #8 in the last poll to #12 in the current poll.

Below is a press release from the CSCAA explaining the poll’s methodology.

CSCAA NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Team Rankings

The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Team Rankings are voted on by a committee of CSCAA member coaches and one member of the media. The DII Rankings will be released four times during the 2014-15 Season

The CSCAA DII Ranking Committee will produce in-season rankings of the 25 best performing NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving teams in rank order at the time of each poll.  The rankings are not designed to predict the results of the NCAA Championship, but rather which teams would win head-to-head against other teams in the country. Ranking are based on performances that have taken place since the previous poll and include invites as well as dual meets.
